Tell us about yourself! How did you come to start Rustic Accents, LLC? 
I am a mom of 3 boys and a 6th grade Science teacher. I have always loved vintage shopping, going to auctions and antique stores. I have also been involved in the wedding industry early on in my career, where I worked at a bridal store for 7 years. I really enjoyed working with brides and seeing their weddings come together. It has been exciting to combine my two passions into one business.

What has been the biggest lesson learned since starting your business?
The biggest lesson that I learned is how important it is to stay current with technology. I'm not a very "techy" person, so I have worked very hard to create my website and business operations. I also have focused on how to integrate social media as a marketing tool.

What are you exciting goals for the future? 
One of my goals as a new business owner is to eventually branch out from my home business to a store front operation. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I definitely want to go in that direction. It would not only give me room to add more product, but I would be able to have more space to work with couples.

What do you love most about running your own business?
I really enjoy being able to help make a bride see her version for her wedding come to life. With all the pieces of product, big or small, each bride, or couple has been able to find items for their wedding and get really excited how perfect it fits their style. The other fun part of my business is finding the right products, too. I can't wait to rummage through the next antique mall or dig through an old barn.

What makes Rustic Accents shine?
I have unique products that can be hard to find. From vintage velvet couches to galvanized top tables and wine barrels, I feel that I have a good eye for those perfect vintage/rustic items that couples are looking for.

What advice do you have for someone who is in the beginning stages of event/wedding planning?
When a bride or groom calls, I usually always ask the same question, "do you have a venue?" It is hard to start planning decor unless you have a venue in mind. Once the venue is decided upon, the decorating may begin.

Finally... tell us a SUPER fun fact about yourself.
I have always wanted to be a "mother of the bride", With three boys, this is my way of doing that.... I wouldn't trade my boys for anything in the world, but this is the next best thing!
